Should the Champions League final be moved from Rome?

Should the Champions League final be moved from Rome?

Article By Shane Edwards

With the Champions League final fast approaching, there are major concerns surrounding the safety of travelling supporters. Roma's "Ultras" have already stabbed Liverpool, Manchester United, Middlesbrough and Arsenal supporters when they have travelled to Rome.

On the flip side, travelling fans from England are no saints either. Rome has recently hosted several Six Nations Rugby matches without any trouble what so ever.

Regarding the possibility of moving the venue, UEFA spokesman William Gaillard said "I think we have made arrangements in Rome which include security and safety arrangements which we believe will be satisfactory at the time of the final.

"The final will be a different situation in which the Rome Stadium will be truly a neutral venue. We take it seriously because a fan was injured and there is no way we would take it for granted that everyone will be fine.

"But we will be in a completely different context for the final. There will be no Rome team involved."

So what are your thoughts? Should Uefa look for a change in venue?
